Biography:
DARKENED NOCTURN SLAUGHTERCULT was called into existence under the banner of traditional old school black metal in 1997. Founding members were Onielar (git, vox) as well as Ariovist (drums) .Six months later their ranks were strenghtened by Velnias (git). The vacant bass player position was taken b y Grigorr as a session member for studio recordings . The first official release was finished 1999. Entitled “The Pest Called Humanity this release offered 5 tracks of pure old school black metal. Ariovist decided to leave the horde after the recording sessions. As this self financed as well as produced mini CD was quickly sold out it was rereleased as a split LP (with Pyre[USA]) through Black Blood Prod [Italy] in 2001 . The same year Slaughtercult's sophomore CD output “Follow the Calls for Battle was released . Due to high demand two C D editions sold out quickly, mainly distributed by Black Blood Pro d . [ I t a l y ] . At this time Horrn successfully conquered the vacant drum throne. 200 2 Christhunt Prod . [Germany] released a limited gatefold LP version , which was succeed ed by a tape version through Propaganda Records [Ukraina]. March 16 th , 2002 D.N.Slaughtercult successfully performed their first live gig (numerous gigs followed ). Shortly after this event Emporonorr replaced Grigorr as a full time bass player. As a sign of life a mini split LP with Donkelheet [Luxemburg] was released in 2003 . Once more trusting in the service of Black Blood Prod . [Italy]. Slaughtercult's side features a previously unreleased track entitled Underneath Stars of the East. 2004 brought forth the long awaited all new second full length album Nocturnal March. Being the latest release Nocturnal March clearly shows a constant progress on Slaughtercult's road towards utmost grim perfection .
